DVT Prevention

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a serious condition that occurs when a blood clot forms in a vein located deep inside your body and can often be linked to venous insufficiency. Chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) is when the vein walls weaken and reduce their elasticity and ability to move blood out of the arms and legs to your heart. CVI can occur as a result of DVT and is called post-thrombotic CVI. DVT and CVI can be decreased by helping blood flow back to the heart by using lower extremity limb compression.
